Pastor Brae Dewalt is co-founder of Faith City Church in South Carolina, alongside her husband, Pastor Byron Dewalt. Since answering the call to ministry in 2004, she has devoted her life to helping people experience deliverance, healing, restoration, discipleship, and the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
Pastors Bryon and Brae are the proud parents of three beautiful grown children, two bonus children, and five grandchildren.
Pastor Brae received her calling to the ministry in February 2004 under the leadership of Pastor Cheryl Jackson at Community Christian Fellowship Church. Brae holds three licenses in ministry. She graduated from divinity school on June 24, 2005.
Pastor Brae believes in the five-fold ministry and operates in the Apostolic and Prophetic realm, as well as in the gifts of healing, deliverance, and teaching. She has a passion to see the Body of Christ fulfill its purpose in bringing the Kingdom of God here on earth. She strongly believes in helping women by encouraging them to become all that God has called them to be. Pastor Brae fulfills this calling through her online women’s ministry, GATHERED, where she ministers the gospel internationally each week through her book club, fulfilling the call of discipleship outlined in Matthew 28:18–20.
Faith City Church (formally known as City of Refuge Christian Church Charleston) was started on November 28, 2017.
In partnership with Pastor Byron, Pastor Brae co-founded their marriage ministry, Threefold Connection, an LLC dedicated to strengthening marriages with the guiding principle, “Where marriage is one connection, three strands.” Through this ministry, they meet weekly with couples, walking alongside them and providing counsel, guidance, and biblical support to help build healthy, God-centered relationships.
Pastor Brae also serves in community ministry through wellness and outreach at the YMCA, where she leads SilverSneakers, a fitness class dedicated to seniors, as well as Zumba. In each session, she intentionally creates space for encouragement, often sharing a meaningful scripture to uplift and pour into those she serves. She also facilitates a grief support group called “A Time to Mend,” where she provides compassion, prayer, and a safe space for individuals navigating loss. Through these efforts, she integrates ministry and wellness, creating opportunities for both physical health and spiritual healing within a supportive community.
Pastor Brae carries an apostolic vision to build a women’s shelter in her city—establishing a place of refuge where women can encounter healing, restoration, and transformation through the power of Christ. Her heart is to see women restored, equipped, and released into their God-given identity and purpose, breaking cycles and building a legacy that impacts generations to come.
